Software can be a medical device when its intended medical function falls under regulations. Therefore, we develop a clear distinction between general information and decisive medical software from the very beginning.
The boundary of advice
An overview or summary cannot implicitly transition into diagnosis, triage, or treatment guidance. The intended use must be technically, clinically, and legally unambiguous.
Auditable software
Version control, requirements, test cases, cybersecurity, error logging, and traceable origin of results are prerequisites for responsible research.
DAM-DMA integrations
AI can conceptually help organize information, but fabricated certainty or uncontrollable model outputs are unacceptable. Any potential medical AI application requires its own regulatory pathway.
Our accountability
We explicitly distinguish between medical intended uses, general information technology, prototype research, and an officially authorized product. Patients and healthcare professionals must not derive unjustified trust from attractive visualizations.
