JSP SHRARA — Newsroom and verification workflow

Our newsroom must be able to determine for every relevant story what the original report is, what was subsequently adopted by other channels, and which parts have been independently verified.

1. Receipt of a report

The initial registration records the medium, author where known, time, source URL, language, original title, and any subsequent updates. News can arrive via text, radio, TV, social media, podcast, or video. An early report does not yet receive a truth seal.

2. Verification claim by claim

An article with ten concrete factual statements can have ten different evidence statuses. An image may be authentic but incorrectly dated; a statement may be correctly quoted but incorrectly summarized. The text is therefore not assessed as one indivisible true-or-false object.

3. Right of reply without artificial equality

An involved party is given appropriate opportunity to respond to relevant accusations. Responding does not make an unfounded denial as strong as carefully substantiated primary documents. We publish origins, gaps, and proportional conclusions.

4. Publication and changes

Initial publication, subsequent updating, correction, and retraction are different events in the logbook later on. The platform must not suggest permanent real-time operation when updates are delayed or feeds are missing.

Current limitation

This is an editorial workflow on the site, not an active news service with a global feed or automated truth-testing.

Accountability status: A project plan, pedagogical lesson, or editorial method is not the same as an operational, independently tested knowledge service.
